CENCO Barrow meter great gift for a collector of Vintage science equipment
This rare piece is a great gift for a collector of Vintage science equipment Vintage very precise and very well-made Central Scientific instrument. It is marked "Cenco, Chicago, U. S. A., Cat. No. 76805". It has 0-100 "Feet" increments and a spinning fan blade with rotors. Two inner dials measure 1,000 feet and 10,000 feet. When moving air makes the fan spin the needle starts to move. The fan blade with rotors has very well-made bearings that cause the fan to continue to spin for a long time. The instrument comes in its own two part brass case. The instrument has a hanging loop at the top, two feet that it sits on and a threaded hole at the base for mounting. It has two levers - one at top that stops the gauge needle from moving (blades still move) and one lever above the gauge that resets the needle back to zero. It must measure altitude, wind speed (anemometer), velocity air speed meter, falling speed or something else with moving air. It is in very excellent working condition and displays beautifully for the collector.
